New Sixers GM Looks to Bring Moneyball to Philly

Tony DiLeo—the recently-promoted general manager of the 10, 9, 8, 76ers—says he plans to hire an analytics person for the team’s front office to evaluate statistics and make recommendations on how to improve the Sixers. Basically, Moneyball is coming to the hardwood at the Wells Fargo Center. DiLeo is Brad Pitt without the chewing tobacco, the new analytics guy will be Jonah Hill, and Doug Collins will be the angry Phillip Seymour Hoffman. Which means that Kwame Brown is Chris Pratt (the guy from Parks and Rec). Also, the A’s were knocked out of the playoffs that year—as per usual—so get ready for a second-round exit to the Heat.
