Former Christie Rep. Fired for Comments. Former Director of Education for New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, Brandon Brice, has been fired from his post as a property representative in the Port Authority’s Real Estate Services department for comments he made to Gawker’s Caity Weaver at a Fashion Week party. Mainly, for the way he, ahem, so eloquently described the romantic prowess of politicians. [Wall Street Journal]

Suburban Cop Shot, Killed. A police officer in Plymouth Meeting, 34-year-old Bradley Fox, was shot and killed during a traffic stop on Thursday. He survived two tours in Iraq, has a wife, a young daughter, and a second child on the way. He would have turned 35 on Friday. The suspect was shot and killed by police. [Inquirer]

Phils Streak Broken. Phillippe Aumont walked two and clunked one in a one-run game before Diekman came in and surrendered a two-run double and an RBI single in Thursday’s eighth inning against the Astros. Just like that the Phils streak was snapped at seven. Oh, and the Cardinals won. Phils are four games back. [Phillies]

Mayor Nutter Noticed NYC’s Soda Ban. Mayor Nutter says that his administration was paying attention to the fact that New York City successfully passed a ban on big sodas. While Philly doesn’t have anything specific in the works, you can almost feel that the Soda Tax just stuck it’s hand up through the grave like Shredder at the end of the first Ninja Turtles movie. Muhammad Ali Receives Liberty Medal. A slew of athletes and prominent Philadelphians were on the lawn of the National Constitution Center last night as Muhammad Ali received the 2012 Liberty Medal to a standing ovation. His wife Yolanda delivered a speech on his behalf. [Inquirer]
