Chris Christie Wouldn’t Resign as Governor Because He Didn’t Think Romney Could Win Election

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie reportedly wouldn’t resign from his post in the Garden State to take a potential spot on Mitt Romney’s presidential ticket. Despite being urged to take the spot, Christie supposedly wouldn’t resign because he wasn’t confident that the Romney ticket could win the election. Apparently the Romney camp would have required Christie to resign as Jersey’s governor before making him an offer. Christie is set to deliver the keynote address at the GOP convention in Tampa on Tuesday. [The Atlantic Wire]
