Six Flags Great Adventure Discontinues Drive-Through Safari Tours
Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, New Jersey has announced that it will close its Wild Safari a month early this year and that it has discontinued drive-through tours of the animal sanctuary. Since 1974, more than 10 million visitors have driven through the 350-acre plot that is home to lions, rhinos, giraffes, and other animals. Further details for the 2013 season haven’t been announced, but visitors will no longer be able to drive themselves through the park. They might be able to take away the privilege of driving through the Wild Safari, but they can’t erase the memory of the time that my brother saw a bunch of ostriches and yelled, “LOOK AT ALL THE HOSTAGES!” True story.
