NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB and NCAA Sue Jersey to Prevent Sports Betting

The NBA, NFL, NHL, MLB and NCAA have filed a lawsuit against the state of New Jersey to prevent the legalization of sports gambling in the Garden State. The suit mentions the 1992 law that outlaws sports gambling in all but four states. Governor Christie had previously said that he intends to implement legislation that would allow for sports betting in Jersey without seeking to overturn the ’92 law. He also said he expected litigation. [Philly.com]
