Governor Corbett to Resign as DRPA Chairman

Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett announced on Wednesday that he’ll step down as chairman of the Delaware River Port Authority. Governor Corbett had appointed himself to the board of the DRPA and was then elected as chairman. He says that the DRPA board is “reliably committed” to, “providing safe, reliable, customer-friendly transportation to the people of southeastern Pennsylvania and southern New Jersey.” Thus, it’s time for him to step aside. David F. Simon—a DRPA board member and executive vice president and chief legal officer for Jefferson Health System—will be nominated to take Corbett’s place next month. [Inquirer]
