Flyers Sign Coach Peter Laviolette to a Two-Year Extension
Just a week after losing out on Shea Weber thanks to Nashville matching the Flyers’ $110 million offer sheet, Paul Holmgren managed to lock up the team’s coach for another two years. The Flyers announced on Wednesday that the team and Peter Laviolette have agreed on a two-year contract extension. Lavs has lead the Flyers to a 122-73-26 record since taking the helm in the middle of the 2009-2010 season. The deal, along with the remainder of his current contract, indicates that Lavs will be the coach of the Flyers through the 2014-2015 season. [CBS Sports]
