Who doesn’t love Barneys? Now gay folks have a new reason to drop by the flagship store in New York City this week thanks to the Perfect Pairs campaign, a charity project benefitting HRC.

The initiative kicked off this week with a display of love letters between designers Franco Russo and John Varvatos. The retailer’s also donating 10 percent of this week’s sales in the new Perfect Pairs shoe department to the LGBT organization.

“The new shoe floor spans the entire fifth floor,” says Barneys’ website, “a 22,000-square-foot space—and houses all designer shoes for women and men. The space was designed in collaboration with the architecture firm Yabu Pushelberg, under the direction of Barneys’ Creative Director Dennis Freedman.”

With open space and minimal walls, the floor’s environment is consistent with Barneys’ gallery aesthetic and Madison Avenue’s newly renovated women’s ground floor, which will be unveiled in September.

When it comes to showing a little same-sex love, Barneys wants to hear from you, too. For every love letter submission made on Facebook, the retailer will make a dollar donation to HRC. Plus, one winning letter writer will even score a $5,000 Barneys gift card. Totally worth a shopping trip to New York, right?
