City Council Staffer Charged With Stealing $25,000 From Elderly Woman


A City Council staffer—who makes $60,000 a year to put together commendations and declarations for the Council—was arrested on Tuesday and charged with stealing $25,000 worth of Social Security checks from an elderly woman. A Major Crimes Unit investigation led to the staffer’s Tuesday arrest. She’s charged with 22 offenses relating to the alleged theft. The staffer denied the accusations back in May when reports first surfaced. [Daily News]
