City Council Staffer Charged With Stealing $25,000 From Elderly Woman

A City Council staffer—who makes $60,000 a year to put together commendations and declarations for the Council—was arrested on Tuesday and charged with stealing $25,000 worth of Social Security checks from an elderly woman. A Major Crimes Unit investigation led to the staffer’s Tuesday arrest. She’s charged with 22 offenses relating to the alleged theft.
