International Firefighters Convention Comes to Philly as Mayor Nutter Faces Heat
An arbitration panel recently upheld much of a 2010 ruling that grants Philly’s firefighters retroactive pay raises, more money for health care and furloughs protection. Mayor Nutter has until the end of July to appeal the ruling. Strangely enough, next week, the International Association of Fire Fighters is rolling into town for a convention. Word is that firefighters are organizing protests of Nutter’s policies. The leader of the local firefighters union expects to hear the boo-birds out in full force if Mayor Nutter attends the convention. [Daily News]
