Tropicana Suspends 21 Workers for Union Protest

On Friday afternoon members of the Local 54 of the Unite-HERE union staged a civil protest by sitting in the street and blocking traffic at the entrance to the Tropicana resort in Atlantic City. Last week, Tropicana president Tony Rodio called the protest, “10 minutes of street theater.” Today, he announced that the company has suspended 21 workers that participated in the protest for engaging in illegal activity and interfering with the Trop’s customers.
