Committee Rejects Chris Christie’s Nominee for New Jersey State Supreme Court

For the second time in two months a State Senate Judiciary Committee has rejected a potential New Jersey Supreme Court justice nominated by Governor Chris Christie. This time it was the openly-gay, African-American mayor of Chatham, New Jersey, Bruce Harris. The committee rejected Harris by a count of 7-6. Phillip Kwon—a Korean immigrant previously nominated by Christie for a different seat—fell short by the same tally. [Inquirer]
