Seventy-Year-Old Woman Threatens to Chain Herself to a Gazebo in Sea Isle

A 70-year-old woman says that she’s ready to go on a hunger strike or chain herself to the gazebo in the backyard of her Sea Isle City property. She’s been in a battle with the city to keep her gazebo—a memorial given to her by her children in honor of her late husband and all of their years together. The town’s problem is that the structure violates a height ordinance and needs to be shortened by nearly five feet. The woman, though, is convinced that the town only has an issue because they want her to donate the gazebo to be put on public display. [Daily News]
