Hey Jersey, Hurricane Irene Wasn’t Actually a Hurricane

The National Hurricane Center’s newest findings, released on December 14th, show that Hurricane Irene lost strength before making landfall in Ocean County, New Jersey. The storm caused significant flooding and damage throughout the entire Northeastern United States, but did so in Jersey with winds of 69 mph. While this doesn’t at all negate the damage or catastrophe caused by Irene, it does mean that your hurricane party was actually a tropical storm party. [Patch.com]
