SEPTA Owed $8.4M for Overdue Cars

SEPTA placed a $274 million order for 120 of the new Silverliner V cars—the first of which hit the tracks in October of 2010. Hyundai-Rotem—the company producing the cars—has fallen behind schedule and owes SEPTA $8.4 million in late fees. The rest of the cars are expected to be in service by next summer. [WHYY]
