Feds Shut Down Drug Pipeline From Mexico to Philly
The DEA in Philly and in El Paso, Texas were working cooperatively with the Dangerous Drug Offender’s Unit of the city District Attorney’s Office and the FBI when they made five arrests—three in the Northeast—that have effectively shut down a pipeline of drugs from Mexico to Philadelphia. Authorities say that the Sinaloa Cartel was funneling drugs into Philadelphia from its posts in Juarez and Sinaloa Mexico. After three arrests in the Northeast and two down in Texas, getting heroin, cocaine and marijuana into Philly will prove to be a much more difficult task for the Sinaloa Cartel. [Metro]
