Teachers Walk From Negotiations With Archdiocese and Vote to Strike

Association of Catholic teachers walked from the table this morning, later voted to strike

Since March, the Association of Catholic Teachers and the Philadelphia Archdiocese have been in  negotiations over new teacher contracts. This morning, the union walked away from the table saying that more than 100 issues still need to be resolved. Seeing as how they’ve got plenty of time to discuss, that shouldn’t be a problem. Oh, wait. [Daily Times]

UPDATE: The Association of Catholic Teachers have voted to strike. The vote came hours after the group walked out of negotiations. Picketing has already begun outside the headquarters of the archdiocese on 17th street. [Inquirer]
