Jose Contreras will undergo exploratory surgery in his throwing elbow
Jose Contreras—who has been on the disabled list since June—felt a familiar pain when throwing a bullpen session on Monday. The Phillies closer to start the year will miss the rest of the season after he undergoes exploratory elbow surgery in an attempt to determine what is causing his forearm pain.
