Philadelphia International Airport Gets Less Invasive

New scanners will make things a little less personal

Philadelphia International Airport is one of 40 across the country adopting new body scanners that will feature a much more generic image of travelers. Currently, the picture—while not in HD—adapts to each specific person’s dimensions. The new scanners will have the same image for every person and will simply indicate where on the person potentially dangerous items may be located.
