Yards Brewing Company has grown significantly since they began making craft beer back in the mid ’90s. The new digs they got on North Delaware Avenue in 2008 is a big step up from the small-time operation they had in Manayunk. Now, Yards is set to make an environmental impact indicative of their recent growth. The company has announced that it is committed to using 100 percent wind power via Washington Gas Energy Services Inc. The move will cost Yards some extra dough but will have a significant effect on the brewery’s carbon footprint. Today’s Wednesday—so, if the Scoop didn’t already have Yards on the mind, he does now.
