Spending isn't all that's being shaved in the School District

The police in the city’s school district are lodging complaints over a policy that bans goatees and soul patches. The code also limits permissible hair colors and prohibits male officers from wearing earrings. The Philadelphia Police Department has similar policies. One officer was put on desk duty until he agreed to get rid of his cornrows. The Scoop thinks there are probably more pertinent matters concerning the Philadelphia Police and the Philadelphia School District than whether someone’s hair is burgundy or maroon.
