WWII Vet Stands Up for Gay Rights

Eight-six-year-old Philip Spooner gives perhaps the most moving testimony in favor of LGBT rights

He’s a Republican. He’s a World War II veteran who served in active duty in Europe. He saw the ravages of concentration camps and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He stormed the beach at Normandy. And he was awarded the highest military honors for his heroic deeds.

He also has a gay son. And he talks about why his son and other gays and lesbians deserve equal rights in the United States. We applaud Mr. Spooner for his sacrifices and his support.
