Photos: Anniversary of Fire at One Meridian Plaza
Lots of news outlets are leaning on the ol’ anniversary crutch today (including the Scoop, apparently). Twenty years ago, one of the worst fires in Philadelphia’s history tore through One Meridian Plaza in Center City. See photos of the disaster over at 6ABC and Philly.com, who for whatever reason, chose only to show black-and-white photos, making 20 years feel extra old-timey. CBS3 ran a four-part audio series, which you can hear on their website. And NBC10 keeps it simple with a short news story. See any other anniversary stories today? Share in the comments. If the Scoop gets really desperate tomorrow, he’ll compare and contrast them in a five-paragraph essay.
