Are You Ready for Your Close Up, Sparky?

Philly's ChatterBlast launches CoverPuppy, an iPhone app for dog lovers everywhere

Brussels Griffon Louise loves CoverPuppy and GPhilly.

So you always thought your precious pooch has star quality, right? Well, now you can give your best furry friend some famous face time thanks to a new iPhone app from Philly’s ChatterBlast Labs, the mobile app division of ChatterBlast Media.

CoverPuppy is the company’s first foray into iPhone apps. And if you ask us, it’s a major tail wagger.

“Everyone loves pictures of dogs doing something cute,” says ChatterBlast Labs Founder and Principal Evan Urbania. “CoverPuppy is another avenue to give those pooches some extra cuteness and to share it with friends via social media.”

Available for $1.99 on iTunes in the entertainment category, the app lets you use a photo of your pup on the cover of a make-believe magazine like Vanity Fur, Spots Illustrated and Bone Appetit. Funny headlines complete the cover using your own canine’s name. You can even share these shots of your spokesmodel dog via email, Facebook and Twitter.

One of the reasons GPhilly loves this app is because – in addition to showcasing your precious pup’s mug as seen here with our darling Louise last summer in Fire Island – a portion of proceeds benefits the ASPCA to help fight animal cruelty.

“We want dog lovers to have fun with their companions and show them off to their friends,” says Urbania. “But we also want to help all dogs by supporting efforts that protect their well being.”

As for Louise, she gave CoverPuppy a five-star woof.
