Gay Weekend Roundup

Friday, Saturday, Sunday

Friday, Feb. 4

Join the Dumpsta Players for Dragtastic, the first annual arts consortium benefit at Tabu (7-10 p.m.) with performances by DP’s own Nueva Gabor and the debut of Chardonna Jenkins. A five-dollar donation gets you into the show, as well as first dibs at the bachelor auction and a prize raffle. And it’s all for a good cause. The consortium was created as a non-profit in Philly to promote the arts through education and outreach.

Gang of Four returns to Philly for one night only at the TLA. Celebrate at Sex Dwarf’s Gang of Love at Fluid Nightclub (9 p.m.-2 a.m.) with D.J. Robert Drake playing five hours of non-stop new wave and the chance to win two tickets to the live show (if you wear the most original outfit of the night).

See the men at the Venture Inn show a little leg during the anniversary drag show (11 p.m.) hosted by Robert “Sandy” Beach of Miss’d America fame. Read more here.

Club In or Out in Hammonton, N.J., is holding an open casting call for a new gay reality show called “Under the Boardwalk” (8 p.m.-3 a.m.). Get Snookified (or at least snookered ) with drink specials and other D-list antics.

Enjoy an evening of cabaret at the William Way with Tom and Melissa’s Valentine’s Tour (8 p.m.). The performance of romantic and quirky love songs benefits Women’s Wednesdays, a program for LBT women who are 50 and older.

You haven’t seen anything until you get to the gay-friendly Great American Aquarius Prom upstairs at Adobe on East Passyunk (9 p.m.-2 a.m.). The Jawns take everyone on a ride with performances by Pyramid $keem, Trip Dicks, Buffalo Stance and Arrah Fisher of Arrah Fisher and the Ferns. Prom wear, drag and costumes are strongly encouraged for this far-out dance party.

The gay footballers at the Greater Philadelphia Flag Football League are hosting a Super Bowl party at the International House (5:30 p.m.) with a portion of proceeds benefiting ActionAIDS. Enjoy an open bar, free food and the chance to win a slew of silent auction items. And did we mention GLEE? Watch the much-anticipated (and very gay) half-time show on the big screen with other LGBT pigskin lovers. Read more here.
