Feature: Ready for Their Close-Ups: Behind-the-Scenes With Philly’s Socialites

Led by Sabrina Tamburino Thorne, a new breed of attention-loving, camera-hungry partygoers are making themselves “Philly-famous” — and turning Philadelphia society upside down

Doesn’t it all — the parties, the pictures, Parc, the heels — get exhausting?

“Personally, I never get tired,” she says. “I’m a Tamburino. This sort of energy was passed from my grandmother to my mother to me. I like people. That’s what drives me. I just. Like. Being. Out.”

And in fact, at Boyds, she laughs happily and often, making her way through circles of acquaintances, flipping her silky hair over a shoulder, leopard Jimmy Choo handbag under her arm, a glass of prosecco in hand. Eventually, inevitably, Dillon finds her, standing with Lauren O’Dorisio. The two women smile — teeth gleaming — and he gets his shot to post the next day, for all of us to see. That the camera’s flash isn’t lasting doesn’t seem to concern any of those involved.
