Kitchens You’ll Covet: Arts & Crafts

The owners of a classic 1920s Arts & Crafts-style house on a tree-lined street in suburban Narberth waited 20 years to redo their kitchen — an alcove so small, the refrigerator resided in an adjacent sunroom. By the time they hired architect Bob Torres, who in turn hired cabinetmakers Pappajohn Woodworking (4355 Orchard Street, 215-289-8625), they were more than ready for a change. Change they got. Expanding on the home’s first floor, the new, backyard-facing, 275-square-foot room blends seamlessly with the rest of the house’s warm, historic bones, and incorporates updated necessities — including plenty of space.
