ON THE HOMEFRONT: Prints of the City

A few months ago, I bought a typography-centric poster of Brooklyn neighborhoods by NY artist Jim Datz. I love it, and, once I get around to getting it framed at Seven Arts (255 North 3rd Street, 215-923-8930), it’s going to make a lovely belated wedding gift for friends who a actually live in Brooklyn.

It got me to thinking. Where are the Philadelphia artists’ Philadelphia prints? One of the editors here has a cute, map-based screen print by Ork Posters in Chicago, but, still… Chi-town?

So, I was super-psyched to see these works of local letterpress genius by Philly/the Main Line’s very own Louella Press. Twenty-five bucks buys a graphic, limited edition, two-color, eight-by-ten-inch, antique-print design featuring the city’s finest nabes and the Main Line’s preeminent townships.
