All I can say is thank God bathing suit season is almost over. I’m squeezed into my Lilly cover-up here on LBI (our Basil is lifeguarding in Loveladies), mitigating residual damage from the Great Chefs fundraiser for Alex’s Lemonade at Osteria. Noshers included the Food Network’s dashing Marc Summers, radio’s Danny Bonaduce (not so dashing), investment honcho Michael Forman, and the always smashing Jen Utley. Kristin Cavallari, star of a television reality program called The Hills, which I’m told is about Main Line-ish young people in Southern California. Not exactly Sidney Poitier, dumplings, but I must say, our daughter Maine was wildly impressed! … And it may still be two months to Halloween, but it seems that brazen Peter Breslow is costuming early: The PR honcho has been making dinner reservations around town under the name of Craig LaBan, the Inquirer food critic, and enjoying fab meals as a result! We suspect Le Bon Ban would not find this an amuse-bouche, as they say in the trade. …
