The 20-team league plays its games each Sunday in Manayunk, and although this is the last league they are running this season, be sure to check their web site frequently to register for leagues in everything from football to wiffle-ball to kickball this fall.

Next Season: July 26th – Oct. 11th
Registration Deadline: July 22nd

Tennis Philly
Whether you’re short on cash — who has a country club budget this year, right? — or short on friends looking to swing a racket, you can still test your serve against area players. Tennis Philly has divisions arranged by skill level so everyone can find a playing partner, whether you’re a future Roger Federer or looking for a new way to break a sweat. Best of all, there’s flexible scheduling so even if you’re calendar is packed, you can still find time to squeeze in a match. Once you register, a list of similarly skilled opponents will be sent to you so you can contact possible court buddies to find a match time — public access courts are most often used, but any available court will do.
Cost: $29.95
Next Season: Aug. 19th – Oct. 11th
Registration Deadline: Aug 18th

Casa Soccer
Local non-profit Casa Soccer offers local foot-ballers an opportunity to hone their skills in an organized setting. The volunteer-run league started out in 2006 with just eight teams, but has quickly expanded. This year’s spring season had 36 teams in four different skill-level divisions. Games are held weekly in Northeast Philly, and teams feature both homegrown talent as well as players from around the globe.
Cost: Approximately $1,300 per team (min. of 15 players), $50-80 per player
Next Season: Week of Aug. 29th – Week of Oct. 31st
Registration Deadline: Aug. 22nd
Locations: Pennypack Park & Philadelphia Soccer Club’s Agusta Field
