Style Report: The Papery Has a Gift for You; Trunk Show Has a Trunk Show

Old City’s The Papery is celebrating its fifth anniversary this fall and is gifting us by offering 10-percent off all purchases throughout November. But there’s more! Starting today (and running through Wednesday, November 26th) they are offering 20-percent off on all personalized orders (cards, invites, stationery), so stock up on those holiday cards now.

In some the-economy-sucks news, Women’s Wear Daily reported yesterday that Brit bag brand Mulberry closed two U.S. stores, one being at the Pier Shops in A.C. COO Lisa Montague told WWD “Atlantic City was a risky strategy for us to begin with, because the brand is so young in the U.S. We expected to have a higher footfall there, but the result was not what we had hoped.” We are sorry to see you go and we hope the Pier survives these crummy times!

Trunk Show Boutique (an adorable, warm place off of South Street) is under new ownership and is living up to its name by having a trunk show tonight from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Not only will many goods in the store be reduced by 20 percent (think cute sweater tunics and sparkly shirts), but you’ll get to check out their new clutches that can be customized with your choice of leathers.

Fili Gree is a year-old quaint gift store that lives in a renovated 18th century barn in Downingtown. And lucky for us, it’s having a party tomorrow from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Stop by (and bring a friend) for music and martinis to check out jewelry, accessories and clothes from Sisters and jewel-toned goods from Rose Tree Designs. There’s a sale going on too: Save up to 50 percent on bedding and handbags and more.
