Brooke dishes on the Art Museum’s fab bash to open its Frida Kahlo exhibit
Ole! At the Art Museum’s fab bash to open its Frida Kahlo exhibit, Anne d’Harnoncourt, channeling her best Jane Alexander, wore a rebozo scarf in the national colors of Mexico and told us the Museum had been working on bringing the show here for almost four years. … As for Verónica Valencia de Sarukhan, wife of the Mexican ambassador to the U.S., such whispers! The gorgeous diplomat (in a deep ruby bed jacket) graciously greeted one and all, looking like a Mexican Alycia Lane (sans the temper). … Other sightings: Museum chair Gerry Lenfest sporting a jaunty felt fedora, and Suzanne Roberts, daring to forgo Mexican attire for a bejeweled Indian shawl. … Our best-dressed nod went to Blanca Villalón, part of the embassy posse, whose body-hugging red floor-length Calvin Klein number had women drooling with envy and men just drooling. Dumplings, if our diplomats looked like her, we’d be out of Iraq in a week! … In other news, is Martha Stewart house-hunting locally? Tongues are wagging that the domestic goddess is scouting real estate in West Chester (near the Andrew Wyeths, naturally) as part of her new deal with WC-based QVC. Just picture the housewarming!
