Your wedding day is one of the most personal days of your life. To make sure that what adorns your ears, neck and hair are just as personal, Lori Johansson, owner of Bellezza Veils in Collegeville, will create a veil, jewelry and other accessories just for you — she’ll even integrate your birthstone, coordinate with the wedding colors, or work antique pieces from your family into her designs.
“I can take your grandmother’s brooch and use it to make a custom bridal accessory,” says Johansson. “Or, some brides bring in their mom’s veil, which was originally a Juliet cap, and I give it a more modern twist.” In addition to Johansson’s bridal line, she will design jewelry for bridesmaids using semi-precious gemstones (think peridot, rose quartz, black onyx and chalcedony), pearls and Swarovski crystals with sterling silver or 14K-gold accents. “Brides will often bring me a photo of something they like and I’ll re-create it using different gemstones,” says Johansson. “It’s a great way to up the unique factor — design something that’s special to the bride and the event.”
