Washington West Project Undergoing $20K Renovation
The Mazzoni Center’s storefront HIV- and STD-testing hub, the Washington West Project, will be closed this week. The site is undergoing an “extreme makeover” thanks to a generous $20K grant from Queen Village second-hand heaven Philly AIDS Thrift. In a press release, the Mazzoni Center says the money will be used to “not only enhance the facility but will also increase our testing capacity so that during peak times we will be able to serve twice as many clients as we could in the past.”
The renovations are scheduled to be finished later this week, but until then, walk-in HIV and STD testing will be done at Mazzoni’s main office, at 21 S. 12th Street, Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
