LGBT MOVIE WATCH: ‘Two: The Story of Roman and Nyro’
With Father’s Day just around the bend, I thought it would be appropriate to share this trailer that hit my radar this week. TWO: The Story of Roman and Nyro is a documentary about the real-life modern family of Grammy-award-winning songwriter Desmond Child (worked with Aerosmith, Cher, Kelly Clarkson, etc … ) and his partner Curtis Shaw. It chronicles their journey to meet a surrogate mother, who eventually has their twin sons Roman and Nyro, who, it warrants being mentioned, are the godsons of ’80s icon Bon Jovi. From there we’re afforded a peek into the first 10 years of the boys’ lives and Child and Shaw’s first experience raising children together. “It takes a village,” Child says in the documentary, “but in our case it took the Village People.”
Too funny.
You can check out the trailer below, and keep your fingers crossed that it’ll be coming to a Philly theater near you very soon. Hint, hint, QFest organizers!
