College Professor Fired After Saying “Queers” Should be “Hung” on Facebook

A professor at St. Lawrence College has been fired after he took to Facebook to post some rather homophobic commentary on the rainbow flag, according to the Huffington Post.

Rick Coupland, the professor out of a job, shared a Facebook video of St. Petersburg mayor Rick Kriseman raising a rainbow flag over City Hall. His comment? “It’s the queers they should be hanging, not the flag:”

College officials acted swiftly and posted their own social media comments:
