Sure, there are so many wedding magazines on the market (including Philly Mag‘s own fabulous Philadelphia Wedding), but imagine wandering through the periodical isles at Barnes and Noble and finding a publication dedicated totally to gay ceremonies.

It would only make sense that such a magazine would come to market, given the drastic momentum behind legalizing gay marriage throughout the country, and EQL is it. The new publication, which comes out twice a year, is a glossy, gorgeous assortment of actual couples’ wedding celebrations, offering great ideas for just about any swanky or simple party.

In the premiere issue, I was pleased to see a full-page ad from the Visit Philadelphia folks, inviting newly married couples to plan a romantic getaway in the City of Brotherly Love (and Sisterly Affection). There are about ten profiles on dream weddings in the issue—everything from a country getaway to a very extravagant ceremony featuring the late Joan Rivers to a beach yoga-themed party. The magazine was rounded out by a gorgeous gown editorial, some great ideas for florals (I may even try some of the arrangements to have around my home), and an excellent list of destination wedding ideas.

You can visit EQL‘s webpage, where there are even more features, plus they have a pretty active Pinterest account. It’s also worth picking up the $6.95 magazine in-person at your local bookstore: It’s a total look-book that will inspire you, even if you’re single!
