Out author Christopher Rice is stopping by Philly AIDS Thrift @ Giovanni's Room on Tuesday to share excerpts from his new book The Vines. The supernatural thriller takes you to a plantation mansion on the outskirts of New Orleans, where "something sinister lurks beneath the soil of the old estate." Sounds like a riveting read for fall, and this event is an excellent change to meet one of the LGBT community's leading scribes (and one of People magazine's Sexiest Men Alive issue.) It Gets Better at The Kimmel Center

The It Gets Better Project, an initiative turned international phenomenon that supports lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) youth who have experienced and survived bullying, is coming to the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts this week. Catch a series of inspiring events, beginning this Tuesday with a youth-led panel discussion and spoken-word series, all leading up to a special live performance of It Gets Better on stage come Saturday. Triangle World Premiere

The red carpet will be rolled out for the premiere of a new Philadelphia-made LGBT web series, Triangle, at William Way. Sponsored by BEBASHI's SOULS (Society of Unique Love & Support) initiative, the series "centers around a man named Jabril Anderson, who gets himself caught up in his own web of deceit. He’s a good guy, but makes bad decisions when it comes to matters of the heart. Jabril’s love for both Brandon and Derrick are genuine, yet flawed all because of the lies they were built upon." Two episodes of the show will be screened, followed by a talkback with the entire cast. Thursday, November 6th, 6pm, free, William Way Community Center, 1315 Spruce Street.

It's a Strange World: The Music of David Lynch

The vast worlds of music, movies, and art will collide this Thursday evening at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (PAFA). Immerse yourself in the paintings and drawings of filmmaker and PAFA alum David Lynch, while an amazing lineup of Philly musicians—curated by our very own Victor Fiorillo—perform iconic tunes, from classic movie tracks to songs that inspired Lynch. Performers include Northern Arms, Stinking Lizaveta, Pattern Is Movement, Teena Geist, Martha Graham Cracker, James Sugg, and many more. For more information, click here. Bearoncé

This easily wins the award for best event title this week. Just like it sounds, Bearoncé features the boys of Bearlesque performing Bey songs all night long. Connor Michalchuk hosts. Friday, November 7th, 10pm, $10, Tabu Lounge and Sports Bar, 200 South 12th Street.

American Psycho Dance Party

Sleepover. The Party. returns with its monthly movie-themed dance party at Venture Inn, this time inspired by sexy, stylish thriller American Psycho. Come dressed as one of the characters from the film (we recommend whitey tighties à la star Christian Bale's workout scene) and get ready to boogie down all night. 2014 Leather Pride Night

The leather community's pride flag will be waving at Voyeur on Saturday for the annual Leather Pride Night. Taking place from 6pm all the way till 11pm, the festivities will include everything from boot-blackening booths and the curious-sounding Wheel of Kink to a performance by Liberty City Kings Drag and Burlesque. Local organizations Philly Aids Thrift and the LGBT youth-championing Change Philly Today will be honored as beneficiaries. Back 2 Basics

This month's lesbian dance party Back 2 Basics features two guest DJs, Aura and Sparkles, and lots of drink specials, including $3 PBR Pounders, $5 well drinks, and $7 Fireball shots. Saturday, November 8th, 10pm, $5-$10, Tabu Lounge and Sports Bar, 200 South 12th Street.

Glitter and Grits at Tabu

Cap off the weekend with glitter and grits. Liberty City Kings Drag and Burlesque will be serving up brunch and an afternoon of shimmies at Tabu on Sunday, with a special nod to Leather Pride weekend. Sunday, November 9th, 11am, $5, Tabu Lounge and Sports Bar, 200 South 12th Street.

Rather let your DVR catch AHS: Freak Show? Head upstairs at Tabu on Wednesday for Schonewolf's Mr. Everything competition, where, this week, contestants are asked to base their performance on a U.S. state of their choosing.
On Thursday, Drag Wars contestants will be challenged to create a head-to-toe greyscale look and then go back to full color mid-performance! Easy, breezy, beautiful, good luck, girls!
