Metro Men’s Clothing Moving to New Location, Having Huge Sale

The South Philly gay-owned boutique is moving into fancy new digs near the East Passyunk Fountain.

South Philly’s gay-owned Metro Men’s Clothing is closing shop soon to move down the street to 16oo E. Passyunk Ave., a larger, more central location near the East Passyunk Fountain. Owner Tom Longo says the new location will feature two floors of retail space, where he’ll be able to “merchandise better, add additional clothing lines and introduce an e-commerce component to the store.” In May, Longo was presented with a $5K LGBT Business Award grant from the Independence Business Alliance to aid in enhancing the store’s online presence.

Before he makes the move, Longo wants to clear the store of its summer merchandise, so he’s marking things down like crazy. All polos, tees, shorts, shoes, jeans, tank tops, pants and summer suits will be 50 percent off until the shelves are empty. Longo says he hopes to be moved into the new location by Sept. 15.
