What We Love: PAFA After Dark

Check out the new generation of art stars

PAFA inspires our Wanderlust during PAFA After Dark on June 2 (6-9 p.m.) when the annual student exhibition is open for view. Not only is PAFA the country’s oldest art school, but the student show is among the best in the city – and a great place to buy work by someone who will undoubtedly be an art star in the very near future.

Many PAFA grads have gone onto become well-known artists, like (yes, we’re name dropping) Bo Bartlett, Charles Demuth, Mary Cassatt, Thomas Eakins, Barkley Hendricks, and so many more.

In addition to the great art, the evening is also topped off with music by DJ Shawn Ryan and the opportunity to pick up a paintbrush yourself. Artists with the Art in the Open Festival are inviting everyone to help create a fantastical landscape that will be on display.

Also on tap is the After Dark People’s Choice Award to one of the students in the show. Guests get to cast their votes on this who’s who of the emerging art world – all for just $10.
