Norris and Debbie Jordan of the Happy Rooster are working on opening their second restaurant, located on 20th and Lombard, across from Pub & Kitchen. They’ve brought in industry hotshots Natalie Maronski and Josh Jenkins to oversee the operation.


In Riva’s Arthur Cavaliere opens a fried chicken restaurant on Ridge Avenue in East Falls.


Filipino food comes to booming East Passyunk.

Fishtown gets a version of Passyunk Avenue’s Garage to call its own.

Conshohocken Brewing – Bridgeport

Conshohocken Brewing opens a full-service restaurant and brewpub, just over five miles from the original brewery.

Paesano’s – Temple University

The newest of Peter McAndrews’ sandwich chain has opened on Temple’s campus with an expanded menu that includes cheesesteaks and much more.


Antonio Cardillo, a veteran of Italian restaurants in Philadelphia and South Jersey opens his own white tablecloth BYOB in the former home of The Farm and Fisherman.


Sam Mink opens an indoor Mexican Beer Garden above his Oyster House in Center City.

Kanella Grill

Kanella’s Konstantinos Pitsillides is returning to the original site of his Cypriot BYOB. This time he’s offering a menu focused on kebabs.

Federal Distilling Room

Federal Distilling, the distillery behind Stateside Urbancraft Vodka opens a cocktail bar in Kensington.


The Wahlberg’s burger chain comes to Philadelphia and Northern Liberties in particular.

Gigi Italian Bistro BYOB

Elizabeth Halen, who runs Flying Monkey Bakery opens another booth at the Reading Terminal Market. This one is dedicated to, you guessed it, the condiment.

On Point Bistro

Garces alums open American bistro in the former home of Breezy’s Cafe in Point Breeze.


Chip Roman sells the Chestnut Hill restaurant to his Blackfish chef de cuisine, Yianni Arhontoulis. Arhontoulis promises not much will change besides the restaurant becoming a BYOB.
