Avenue Scoop – Avenue Scoop is much more than just ice cream. The shop also sells coffee, bagels and waffles.
Bufad – Prohibition Taproom owners open a locally source pizza shop.
Cafe L’Aube – Crepes and coffee coming to the NextFab Studio on Washington Avenue.
Gennaro’s Tomato Pie – Former operator of Lombardi’s Pizza is opening in South Philadelphia.
Goat Hollow – Neil Campbell, co-owner of the Race Street Cafe is looking to open the Goat Hollow in Mt. Airy.
honeygrow – Bala Cynwyd – Second honegrow location comes to City Avenue.
Keven Parker’s Soul Food Cafe – KeVen Parker is bringing soul food back to the Reading Terminal.
Philly Cupcake – The second location for Philly cupcake plans to open this fall.
Ten Six Club – Revamped Alfa merges mod and British rock.
Toast – YOLO is now Toast. And by all accounts, it’s better.

February, 2013

Buttercream Cupcake Store – The Buttercream cupcake truck is putting down roots.
Corner Foodery – 800 beers and cured meats.
Fitler Dining Room – Dan Clark and the Pub & Kitchen crew take over Meme’s space.
Happy Noodle Bar – Chinese noodle spot in the former home of Nan Zhou.
Honey’s Sit ‘N Eat – Honey’s Sit n Eat is coming to 21st and South Street.
Igloo – Frozen treats for Grays Ferry Avenue.
Laxmi’s Indian Grille – East Falls – Laxmi’s of Manayunk opens up a second location in East Falls.
Metropolitan Cafe – The Metropolitan Cafe will be just steps away from their Rittenhouse Square shop. Expect cappucino, soups, salads, sandwiches and of course Metropolitan goodies.
Miles Table – The long vacant Apamate on South Street is being taken over by Catering by Miles. The space’s kitchen will be used primarily for catering but there will be a cafe in the front.
Mixed Plate – New Asian restaurant with a liquor license comes to 218 South Street.
Pizza Bar – Pizzeria located inside the Piazza at Schmidts, next to Kings Oak.

March, 2013

Agricola – French Laundry alum Josh Thomsen brings a farm-to-table to Princeton.
Bru – A German beer garden for Chestnut Street.
Cedar Point Bar & Kitchen – A Fulle Plate crew moves to Fishtown and gets a liquor license.
Dolphin Tavern – Avram Hornik looks to reopen the Dolphin on Broad.
Insomnia Cookies – Midtown Village – The latest branch of the Insomnia chain will open in Midtown Village.
Pizzeria Beddia – Joe Beddia is opening a pizzeria on Girard Avenue.
Steve’s Prince of Steaks – One of the Northeast’s favorite cheesesteak spots comes to Center City.
Victoria Freehouse – A British pub replaces Swanky Bubbles in Old City.

April, 2013

Bieler’s Donuts and Salads – Donut stand comes to Reading Terminal Market.
Cheu Noodle Bar – Ben Puchowitz’s ramen shop finally has a home.
Chinamoto – Asian fusion restaurant joins Tashan.
Farmer’s Road Drive Thru – A healthy, farm-to-table fast food drive-through.
Federal Donuts – Citizens Bank Park – Fried chicken and donuts come to the ballpark.
Hokkaido – Sushi spot in a former camera shop.
Joe – New York City coffee shop is set to open two locations in Philly, including one in Rittenhouse Square, next year.
Kings Corner Public House – British pub comes to Jenkintown.
Little Baby’s Ice Cream – West Philadelphia – The second Little Baby’s Ice Cream is in West Philadelphia.
Lucha Cartel – Owner of National Mechanics is taking over Q BBQ.
PEnnsylvania 6 – Brian Harrington, part of the City Tap House crew is opening a bistro.
Rosewood – Cocktail bar from the Weiss brothers, who own Woody’s.
So Crepe – Crepes return to South Street.
Strangelove’s – The spot will be the biggest yet from the couple who have brought us Memphis Taproom, Local 44 and Resurrection Ale House.
The Pass – Matt Ridgway is opening a general store-meets-French-bistro concept.

May, 2013

Animo Juice – Haddonfield’s Animo comes to Center City.
Avenue Delicatessen – A Jewish/Italian deli in Lansdowne.
Avenue Kitchen – Modern American cooking for the Main Line.
Beiler’s Donuts and Salads – Fresh made donuts for the Reading Terminal Market.
Border Springs Lamb Farm – All-lamb deli, selling their own lamb cuts and lamb dishes opening in the Reading Terminal.
Devon & Blakely – Upscale sandwich/salad spot replacing Pikkles Plus at 18th and Market.
Devon & Blakely – The breakfast and lunch spot offers 18 hot soups daily, plus sandwiches, wraps, paninis, quesadiallas and salads.
Jerry’s Bar – Marshall Green will be in the kitchen at the recently rebuilt Jerry’s Bar.
Mugshot Diner – An offshoot of the Mount Holly, New Jersey diner, this location is at the base of the 2424 Studios.
Noord – Joncarl Lachman of Chicago’s Home Bistro is looking to open a Dutch eatery.
PHS Pop Up Beer Garden – Pennsylvania Horticultural Society opens an oasis on Broad Street.
Pinkberry – Bryn Mawr – First area Pinkberry lands in Bryn Mawr.
Scoop DeVille – A brand new Scoop DeVille will be moving into 1315 Walnut Street, in the Philadelphia Building.
Sweetbox – The Vendy Award winning cupcake truck gets a storefront.
Tango – Ken Poon opens a froyo, Korean Fried Chicken and noodle spot in Chinatown.
Tiffin Bistro – Tiffin and Tashan owner Munish Narula has another concept up his sleeve.
Xi’an Famous Food – Xi’an Famous apparently has nothing to do with the beloved mini-chain of the same name out of New York. But for those of you aching for a taste of Xi’an cuisine, this is your best bet.
Zoes Kitchen – Main Line – Fast-casual Mediterranean.

Avero Craft Pizzeria – Wood fired pizza comes to the Whole Foods parking lot in Devon.
Garage – Jason Evenchik wants to open a bar that brings in food trucks to serve the hungry masses.
Kermit’s Bake Shoppe – Adam Ritter opens a pizza shop and bakery at 22nd and Washington.
Rybrew – Rybread opening a Rybread with beer on Girard Avenue.
Talula’s Daily – Imagine the market portion of Talula’s Table with an urban kick.

October, 2013

Union Taco
Verdad Restaurant & Tequila Bar’s Chef Nick Farina is bringing his delectable Euro-Latin flavors from the Main Line to 7th and Girard.

HubBub Coffee – University City
HubBub Coffee opens the door to its second café location, this one in the University City neighborhood that its coffee truck serves.
DiBruno Bros. – Ben Franklin House
A new outpost for DiBruno Bros. This one east of Broad.
Nomad Roman
Roman pizzas will be coming out of the oven at this pizzeria owned by the team behind Nomad.
Taqueria Feliz
Manayunk gets happy with the third Feliz branded establishment for Tim Spinner and Brian Sirhal.
Black Powder Tavern
A new concept by the team behind the former Winberie’s Restaurant & Bar.
Royal Cracovia
250-seat, $3.5 million European bistro opening in Magnolia, New Jersey, complete with its own underground pierogi laboratory.
Han Dynasty Old City
Han Chiang moves his Old City restaurant across the street into much posher digs.
Shake Shack – University City
University City is the lucky recipient of Philadelphia’s second Shake Shack location.
HipCityVeg – University City
Nicole Marquis brings her vegan fast food to University City.
Howl at the Moon
Chain of dueling piano bars opens in Center City.
It’s a beer-garden themed, iPad-equipped American tavern with a menu by Jose Garces at Philadelphia International Airport.
Dim Sum Garden
A bigger, brighter successor to the soup dumpling king.

Dave Magrogan brings a new concept to the Square Peg Space.

November, 2013

Plenty – Rittenhouse
An airy, bi-level coffee shop for Rittenhouse Square from the guys who gave us the first Plenty on East Passyunk.
The Lodge at Winterfest
Winter happenings on Penns Landing. A 400 person tent next to the RiverRink will house a temporary bar and restaurant by Four Corners’ Management (Avram Hornik) and chef George Sabatino.
Farm and Fisherman Tavern and Market
The South Jersey restaurant features a 150-seat Tavern serving snacks, entrees and family style meals as well as craft beers, small-production wine and cocktails. The Market will offer fresh and local products from sustainable meats and fish, fair trade coffee, craft beers and artisan cheeses.
Le Chéri
Pierre and Charlotte Calmels take over the Rittenhouse Tavern space in the Art Alliance building.
The Butcher and Barkeep
Two bartenders from the Standard Tap and the former chef of the Craft Ale House in Limerick open a bar and restaurant in Harleysville.
Portuguese breakfast and lunch spot. Look for brunch on the weekends.
Osteria – Moorestown
Marc Vetri crosses the bridge for a restaurant at the Moorestown Mall.
New juice bar for Graduate Hospital. The juices also double as excellent cocktail mixers.
Tela’s Market and Kitchen
This Fairmount market also offers breakfast, lunch and weekend brunch menus, too.
