The New Renata’s Kitchen Is Officially Open in West Philly

The new, larger space is serving Middle Eastern food and daily brunch while they wait for a liquor license to come through.

The beloved West Philly brunch spot Renata’s Kitchen, opens today, February 5th, in its new location serving breakfast, brunch and lunch daily. The new spot, located in the old Trolley Car Station Diner location, is almost six times larger than the previous location.

“Among the staff, we joke that working in [the old] Renata’s is like squeezing into a favorite pair of jeans that are two sizes too small,” said co-owner Kate Steenstra. “They still zip up, but it’s not always pretty.”

For now, the new location at 3940 Baltimore Avenue will be open daily from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. serving brunch daily, plus other light fare. They’re waiting for a liquor license to come through, and plan to open for dinner serving Middle Eastern specialties, plus mediterranean wines and a specialty cocktail list. Find the full menu here.

Yasser Aiq and Steenstra opened their original location at 4533 Baltimore Avenue in 2015, and announced this expansion in December. The location is a part of the Trolley Portal Gardens project, meant to open more public space in West Philly.
