An all-day cafe from long-running South Jersey bakery Classic Cake is now open at One Penn Center.

The bakery’s flagship location has been open for more than 30 years in Cherry Hill. Executive chef Robert Bennett, who ran Le Bec Fin’s pastry program for 14 years, has been at the helm since 2005.

At Classic Cake’s downtown location, customers will be able to access the 40-seat cafe from entrances in Suburban Station or from the street at 1617 JFK Boulevard. In addition to stations around the shop offering coffee, baked goods, 14 flavors of house-churned gelato, confections, cakes, breakfast, and lunch items, Bennett and his team will be showing off their decorating skills — building wedding cakes, sugar sculptures, and other dramatic confections — in one corner of the space.

The savory menu includes breakfast sandwiches and bowls, sandwiches (including Le Bec Fin’s crab cake, served on brioche), salads, and soups.
