After seven years working around D.C., chef Jennifer Carroll is coming back to Philadelphia.

The northeast Philly native and her fiancé, former Townsend sous chef Billy Riddle, will open The Finch, a Mediterranean-style bistro and cocktail bar with an Art Deco vibe, in Rittenhouse, according to Philly.com. They’ll set up shop in the former Tavern 17 space in the Warwick Hotel at 220 South 17th Street.

Initially, The Finch will start with dinner service, then add breakfast and lunch as well. The menu is slated to include cuisines from around the Mediterranean, from France to Greece to North Africa and the Middle East, and will be around 60 percent veggies.

Most recently, Carroll and Riddle worked with restaurateur Mike Isabella the metro D.C. area. The Top Chef alum’s most recent Philly gig was opening the Ritz-Carlton’s now-shuttered 10Arts Bistro with Eric Ripert in 2008.
