Jose Garces Is Going to Open Another Buena Onda at the King of Prussia Mall

The Baja-style taqueria will open on November 24th.

Buena Onda, Garces Group’s fast-caj taqueria modeled after seafood shacks on the Baja peninsula, is close to opening its second location in the King of Prussia Mall, smack in the center of the facility’s new-ish Savor complex. It’ll fill the space once occupied by the Taco Truck, which, back in May, suddenly closed after just three-and-a-half months.

In terms of concept, expect something similar, if not identical, to that of the first location’s in Fairmount’s Granary complex: Baja-inspired tacos made with fresh fish (chosen in partnership with seafoodwatch.org), jumbo pacific shrimp, carnitas, chicken tacos, and mission-style quesadillas.

Opening day is November 24th at 11 a.m. Make sure to order some guac — 50 cents from every order (and bottled water purchase) will go to the Garces Foundation.

Still to come: A third Buena Onda in the old Charlie’s Jeans space at 1735 Chestnut Street — but the group’s yet to come up with any sort of timeline for that project.
