Eat Local with Fishtown Brewpub at Their First Farm Dinner

They're cooking up a tasting menu with ingredients from Lancaster Farm Fresh Co-op on November 9th.

Brewery-bar-restaurant Fishtown Brewpub opened earlier this summer on Frankford Avenue at Wildey Street, tucked between the bustle of Girard Avenue and the new Fillmore entertainment complex.

And now, they’re hosting their first farm dinner, featuring Lancaster-grown, certified organic produce from Amish farmers, on Thursday, November 9th.

Chef Justin Koenig, an area native, puts a local focus on his ingredient sourcing; he recently worked in local food mecca San Francisco for the likes of whole animal butcher 4505 Meats, so it’s natural that he’d look to Philly’s agricultural region to the west for the pub’s ingredients.

The four-course farm dinner menu focuses on seasonal produce sourced from Lancaster Farm Fresh Co-op’s network of more than 100 family farms, with artisan cheese, beef, and ice cream playing feature roles.

The dinner is $45 per person, not including tax and gratuity, with the option to add beer pairings for an additional $20 per person. There will be two seatings on November 9th, one at 5 p.m. and one at 8:30 p.m.
