Learning Bartending From The Pros

Though we prefer to learn by osmosis ourselves--by drinking.

I know you think you’re a pretty good at-home bartender. Maybe you know a few tricks. Maybe you got a couple good recipes up your sleeve. But the pros out there will still school any amateur when it comes to knocking out the classics because you know what’s a better foundational education than making a few dozen martinis for a cocktail party with friends? Making a thousand of them for strangers.

So if you’re serious about learning something, you have to go to a professional. And lucky you, the crew at the Ranstead Room is there to help.

On Sunday, February 26, from 6:30pm to 8:30pm, the bar team from the Ranstead Room is going to be laying down some knowledge about classic cocktails. History, best ingredients, bar technique–the works. And hey, if you’re lucky, maybe they’ll even teach you how to toss the bottles around like Tom Cruise in Cocktail.

But probably not. Because that’s just silly.

Tickets for the class (in which 5 classic cocktails will be discussed) will run you $70 a head and reservations are required. As a bonus, everyone who attends will be sent home with everything necessary for making a nice Old Fashioned at home.

You can secure your spot by calling El Rey at 215-563-3330.
