Stockyard Sandwich Company, a seasonal, farm-to-table restaurant opens today. Since temperatures have suddenly dropped 20 degrees, we will be sticking to sandwiches instead of the salads offered on the menu. We suggest you do the same.

We’re interested in the Braised Beef sandwich ($11) because it includes “house-made Whiz.” At first the “house-made” modifier might seem to interfere with the integrity of the noun “Whiz,” but we’re willing to give it a shot. Other highlights include the Whole Pig Bahn Mi sandwich ($10) and the Brussel Sprout and Mushroom sandwich ($9). And we suppose we could do the Yard Salad ($7)–which combines autumn squash and pepita (pumpkin seeds) with poached pear–as long as it’s just a side dish.

Check out the full menu online.

Where: 1541 Spring Garden Street
When: Starting today, Monday-Saturday 7 a.m.-10 p.m.
