The Fat Ham coming to the King of Prussia Mall

The Fat Ham is coming to the King of Prussia Mall

King of Prussia‘s expansion is only two weeks away from their projected opening on Thursday, August 18th.  With over 50 new stores and restaurants to explore, this addition is truly huge. Obviously, here at Foobooz we are most excited about the new Savor King of Prussia area, which is where some old favorites and newcomers will be opening up restaurants in the expansion.

We’ve rounded up the new spots below. They are all expected to open on August 18th and be open regular mall hours (10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday).

The Fat Ham[1]

Kevin Sbraga is opening a second location of his Southern-comfort hot spot. The infamous hot chicken will obviously be making an appearance alongside a whiskey-focused drinking program with over 120 varieties of whiskey and bourbon available.

Melt Shop[2]

This cheese-centric sandwich stop (reminiscent of MeltKraft) is opening their first PA location at King of Prussia. Think BLTs, burgers, and fried chicken sandwiches covered in cheese, cheese-coated tater tots, and Chocolate Truffle milkshakes on the side.

Shake Shack[3]

The tried-and-true burger joint is opening their second King of Prussia location. Now you can grab a double while you shop and a shake on the way out

Sweetgreen[4]

The popular salad spot is filling one of the vacancies. They pride themselves on their organic, locally sourced ingredients and sustainable practices. They have locations up and down the East Coast, and if you haven’t heard about them already, you’ve probably been living under a rock.

Hai Street Kitchen Co.[5]

The sushi burrito spot we know and love is opening it’s fourth Philadelphia-based location at the mall. Their oversized rolls will no doubt be a hit once again.

Nicoletta Pizzeria[6]

This NY-based pizza place is obviously known for their pies, but their gelato is also worth mentioning (you can top it with things like rosemary caramel popcorn and melted dark chocolate). Plus, their New York location has never-ending Happy Hour on Mondays, so hopefully they will continue this practice at their new spot.

Fish & Lobster Company

For all the digging around I did, I cannot seem to find any details about this mysterious seafood restaurant. They’re projected to open the same time as the rest, so maybe we can all be surprised together.

King of Prussia’s other expansion site, the KOP Town Center, is looking at a total of eight new restaurant openings as well. By the time everything there opens (dates range from already open to at some point next year), the suburbs will be adding a Fogo de Chao Brazilian steakhouse, another Honeygrow location, two new things from Davio’s (a steakhouse and a cafe), an outlet of b.good (healthy stuff), Naf Naf Grill (falafel and falafel-y things), City Works Pour House (craft beer, burgers, et cetera), Paladar Latin Kitchen (Latin comfort foods, plus rum) and a new outlet of Founding Farmers, which is the farm-to-table concept restaurant owned collectively by 40,000 members of the North Dakota Farmers Union. Unusual, I know, but we’re kind of looking forward to it.
